FAQs

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

While we truly adore your little ones and cherish your family, our wedding will be an adults-only celebration. We hope you’ll enjoy this opportunity for a luxurious, child-free getaway.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes, formal attire will be worn at the ceremony and reception. The groomsmen will be wearing black suits, and the bridesmaids will be wearing desert rose-colored floor-length gowns. We strongly encourage wearing solid spring colored dresses for women and dark colored suits for men. For the ceremony, wear church appropriate attire (no exposed knees or shoulders, no halter tops). Jackets or shawls may be used for the ceremony.

Question

What is Charleston's weather like in April?

Answer

April is a comfortable middle between Charleston's mild winters and hot summers. Average temperatures typically range between 59-74 degrees. Spring will be in full swing. Rainfall is moderate in April, but showers often do not last for long.

Question

How do I get downtown from the airport?

Answer

The Charleston International Airport is about a 20 minute ride from our hotel and reception venue, the Hilton Embassy Suites, Charleston Historic District. Typically the best way to get there is using a rideshare service (like Uber or Lyft) or getting a taxi. Wait times are typically 15 minutes or less, and typical ride costs range from $15 to $30, depending on time of day.

Question

Is there parking available?

Answer

The Hilton Embassy Suites offers valet parking for $48 per night. Additionally, there a public parking garage right across the street, which also charges $48 per night. Outside of the venue, there is limited street parking available in Charleston, but if you're lucky enough to find a spot, metered spots are free after 6PM on Fridays through the weekend. There are garages and lots available. We recommend avoiding renting or bringing a vehicle if possible. All recommended hotels are within walking distance to many restaurants, bars, galleries, shops, and museums. There are public busses that run around the city, and there is a stop right outside the hotel that is a short ride to the Historic Market, Rainbow Row and the Battery. Rideshare services such as Lyft and Uber are readily available, and usually reasonably priced.
