We met at Arizona State in a class called 302, where we instantly connected over a shared struggle. We both bought the textbook… but never actually received it. That small moment turned into daily conversations, a fast friendship, and eventually, something neither of us saw coming. We became best friends first, hanging out between classes, talking nonstop, and going to every sporting event we could. Haley thought it was just a great friendship, but Jacob had other plans. He even claimed he had to take the early morning class the semester after 302… when really, he just wanted an excuse to keep seeing her. With a little help from Jacob’s best man, Ben Yates (who made sure both sides knew what was really going on), we finally admitted what we’d both been feeling.
