First comes love (or luggage in their case), then came marriage. Their shared love for travel is not surprising, as they first met during a college meeting for international research. After weeks of settling into the university sponsored home and overcoming jet lag, they started to actually speak to each other. After spending the entire HOT summer together exploring Bangalore India, they went back to the U.S. and forgot that each other existed. Two years later, during another summer of research, they crossed paths again. One Facebook comment turned into a direct message. A direct message led to a phone call. And that phone call quickly transformed into hours of FaceTiming until they fell asleep. Even then, they refused to hang up and held on listening to each other breathe (or snore, in Courtney's case lol). After months of a virtual relationship (before it became the new norm), their first date was a trip (of course) to Tampa, Florida. Reconnecting after years of last physically seeing each other started off very awkward but ended on a great note. However, once back to their busy adult lives with work and graduate school, the ladies learned that texting and calling was a lot harder than it seemed. Once again….. complete strangers. Five long years later, fate brought them BACK together. This time, they were in the same state. Their "second" first date was to a taco and tequila festival in Phoenix, Arizona. It was then that they finally agreed on what they meant to each other ( thanks to the margaritas). Their life is an ongoing friendly competition of one-upping each other on date nights, birthdays, and anniversaries. So this wedding is a chance for us to do it together, with them. Of all of the impulsive trips they’ve taken, the trip to the courthouse has had to be the greatest so far.
