Like all great workplace romances, ours began with a classic move: someone throwing strawberry syrup into the other’s hair. (We’ll let you guess who started it.) Nick and Megan first met while working at Potbelly Sandwich Shop in the summer of 2016. Between toasted sandwiches, shakes, and laughter, something special started to grow. By the end of that summer, Megan had “convinced” Nick — who would like to note that he was already planning to transfer — to switch from Iowa State to Illinois State so they could be on the same campus. From practically living together in Megan’s RA dorm room, to enduring the challenges of long-distance while Nick finished school, to moving back home with their parents, and eventually settling into their first apartment in East Dundee — every chapter brought them closer. Now, they’ve built a cozy life together in their home in Hampshire, complete with their two beloved pups, Kylo and Obi. After nine amazing years, countless adventures, and even more sandwiches, they’re finally making it official. While it may have taken a little time to get here, one thing has always been certain — they’ve found the person they want to spend the rest of their lives with, and they can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with all of you.
