Ryan and Alissa met during spring of their sophomore year of high school in 2015 through mutual friends. When summer started in June they began their joint varsity cheer and football practices, often spending time together after practice at team members pool parties and movie nights. Ryan asked Alissa to be his girlfriend on July 12th, now celebrating 9 years together this summer.

For their 7 year anniversary in July of 2022 Ryan and Alissa spent the day in Cherry Valley, California at their local lavender festival. After spending the entire day in the lavender fields, they realized that 123 Farms would become a special place to them and Ryan surprised Alissa with tickets to return in the fall for the farm's lavender nights festival. When they returned on October 8th, 2022 Ryan proposed to Alissa under the moonlight and 500,000 twinkling lights strung around the farm. They have continued to return to 123 farms each year where they spend the day in the lavender fields listening to live music and enjoying fresh farm to table food in the farm's sourdough bakery.

During a trip to Solvang, California in March of 2022 Ryan and Alissa were driving home on PCH through Santa Barbara when they saw an empty beach and decided to make a stop. When they arrived at the beach they were the only ones there, staying for hours in what felt like a dream. They spent 4 hours walking the entire beach, watching the marine life and beachcombing finding seashells, scallops, starfish, shark teeth and sea glass. This was the first time Ryan felt ready to ask Alissa to spend the rest of their lives together, and by May he had a two-stone engagement ring custom made, the setting called a Toi Et Moi meaning two souls becoming one.
