We met in 2009 through mutual friends ( the maid of honor). We didn't think much of it. But, we continued to run into each other over the course of the year. while out with friends. Our interactions were mostly small talk in passing. It wasn't until nearly a year later that we both ran into each other at a local coffee shop. Shortly after, we met up, purposely, for coffee. We clicked, instantly. More dates followed. And, eventually, a friendship and relationship bloomed.
During my birthday weekend, we took a weekend trip to Morro Bay. The Central Coast has always been favorite vacation spot for us and holds special memories for me. Over the years, we would frequently visit and stay in various beach towns on the coast. But all visits always included a visit, or two, to San Luis Obispo. Each visit always included a trip to my Alma Mater, Cal Poly, Downtown SLO Farmer's Market, and my favorite restaurants and coffee shops. So, it was only fitting that the proposal would take place in San Luis Obispo. We dined on the creek side patio at Novo Restaurant in Downtown San Luis Obispo. While having dessert, Mike began a heartfelt speech, got down one one knee, and proposed.
