Esha's POV: I compare a love story to a classic romantic comedy. Upon my acceptance to NCSSM, I decided to familiarize myself with the members of the LGBTQ+ club. Calista was the first person to capture my attention, though I had no idea she would play such a significant role in my future. Our initial text exchanges revealed that we had little in common. When I arrived at NCSSM, I discovered that we lived on the same hall. Initially, I found her presence intimidating and avoided interaction for about three days. However, I eventually mustered the courage to introduce myself, and we quickly became close friends. We spent late nights in our hall lounge discussing our dreams and aspirations. I often waited for her to finish her homework because I valued every moment we spent together. Over time, my feelings for her grew deeper. On October 24, 2020, I asked her out on a date. That day must have left a lasting impression, though Calista may have her own interpretation of our story. Perhaps comparing our perspectives will offer a fuller picture. Calistas POV: The first I heard of Esha Shah was from my best friend Arvin. They sent me Esha's profile on facebook and my response "Arvin you know I'm not looking to date anyone right now". Arvin insisted that they thought we had a lot in common and would be good friends but I was skeptical. Once we actually had a conversation in person, we became quick friends. After only a few days, I considered Esha to be one of my closest friends but soon after our friendship began it was clear to everyone that Esha was developing feelings for me. At one point Esha even asked me "what would you do if I asked you out right now?", heart racing I responded with the truth-- that I would be terrified and worried about losing our friendship. We spoke at length about our philosophies on love and whether it was worth the risk that night. I guess we both decided it was worth the risk.
