We’re getting married!!

You know, I'd say it was love at first sound with Chiji, well second sound is probably more accurate. It was February 19th, 2022 and I was attending my childhood friend's birthday picnic. I'd just moved back to Nigeria about a month back and hadn't had a chance to just hang out so I was excited to be out, meet new people, and whatnot. I'd had a crappy morning and it was looking to be an all-round frustrating day but there was no way I was gonna miss her birthday so I put on my happy face and went out. He had come late so he had to sit at the far end of the table set up, funny enough my name had been placed beside his initially but because the celebrant wanted to start the party without continuing to wait for everyone, l had to change seats and move up the table. I remember thinking he was kinda funny when we were playing our party games but didn't pay much attention to him beyond that because I was talking to someone else at the party. I remember how he kept trying to engage me in different conversations when we were in different group settings. He kept asking me to take pictures and videos of our group and of him and to airdrop them to him. I didn't really register all that he was doing cause my mind was elsewhere lol. At some point, he told his friend that I had been speaking to for most of the event to bring me around more often to their hangouts cause he thought we were there together and that's when I said we had just met. I guess you can say I was pleasantly surprised when he eventually approached me at the end of the day and asked if it was okay to get my Instagram handle, we followed each other, he DM'd me and so it began. He started dropping the lines, trying to rizz me up but I can proudly say I made him laugh so much he probably forgot he was the one supposed to be making me laugh. We quickly moved our chats to WhatsApp and after a few days of talking there he sent me a voice note and I fell in absolute love with his voice. I don't know what it was about the way he sounded but I just knew I was gonna be hooked for a long time.

So I met my beautiful wife on the 19th day of February 2022 at a friend's picnic. Funny story is I was not planning to attend the birthday because it was postponed from the week before and I was not in the mood to socialize but my friend insisted that we go. We got there late and joined the picnic, said hi to everyone, and then gazed upon this damsel sitting beside my boy Oche. We were playing a lot of group games and I was taking every opportunity to chook her yarns, doing it guidedly because I thought she was Oche's plus one. We proceeded to take pictures and I kept asking that she take our pictures but I still was not at ease with just talking to her from the side, so I said to myself "Omo I be sharp Igbo boy o, (onye na ju ajuju adiro efu uzo- meaning person wey ask question no dey loss)" I pulled my guy to the side and asked if they were together and he told me they just met here, based on guy code, I asked if it was cool to make a move and he gave me the reassurance I needed. I looked to my Chi and said "God you're too sweet!" Based on Stizz, I told Oche in her presence to bring her around more often because she's a sweet person, in my words I told her "I like your energy." It was time to leave and I just knew I could not let this girl go! She was such a classy babe. In all sincerity, I'd never met a girl, and rather than ask for her number I ask for her IG. Because she was such a Peng thing I felt like asking for her number would make her see me as every other guy so I stepped it up and asked for her IG handle, low-key expecting that she wouldn't be receptive to my DM's. I got home and texted her right away asking if she was home yet and she responded to me quicker than I imagined. We exchanged numbers from there and then 1 call became 2 calls, became 3 calls, became 7 calls, became 50 calls, became 90 calls, became 900 calls, and the rest is history.
