We met at Olathe East Highschool in 2013 when I was a sophomore, and he was a junior. We were both part of the marching band’s low brass section and soon became close friends. We were each other’s dates to several high school dances but did not start officially dating until after he left for his first year of college at Kanas State University. We spent our first year together in a long-distance relationship but were happily reunited when I joined him at that same college the next year. Between a college major change and a decision to get a graduate degree, we have both been in school for a long time. Now that he has graduated, and I am almost finished with my graduate program, we are finally in a position to have the wedding and marriage we have been longing for. We got engaged July 25th, 2020. He proposed after a romantic dinner at the same restaurant we went to for our first high school dance and first Valentine’s Day together. Luke and I have been together for 7 years now, so we are tremendously excited to finally get married and celebrate with all our loving friends and family members!
