Although we had known each other through Trav's sister, and Erin's best friend Bri for many years, July 4th weekend at Trav's family's camp in 2010 was when it all changed. We had been out with a group on the lake playing "King of the Hill" on a floaty when people started swimming back to camp. The game had ended and somehow the number of people out on the lake had become just two. We stayed out on the float and talked for hours, not even realizing it had been that long. Something clicked for both of us that day. That night around the fire, Trav's grandpa "Papa", actually said he could see us being a good couple. I guess he was our cupid, because the rest is history!
On a trip home to New York, Trav had planned to pop the question in Cooperstown at Double Day Field, the place of one of our first dates. The day he had planned was ruined due to a typical New York downpour rainy day. The trip was coming to an end, and Trav knew he wanted to ask while we were home. On the last day we were in town, we found ourselves running errands. Taking the "long way home" we stopped by the Burnt Hills Rowing boat house on the Mohawk River. We walked around, and then walked down to the dock. After a little reminiscing and story telling about Erin's crew days, Trav got down on one knee and proposed! Erin admits to blacking out what Trav said in his proposal, and actually got back in the car (staring at the ring and crying happy tears) and asked "Did I say yes?" Of course she said yes! That day we celebrated with family and friends, and we can't wait to celebrate our marriage with all of you!
