Erin and Troy first crossed paths while working at Chick-fil-A in college. Erin recalls thinking that Troy was cute, but before she could work up the courage to talk to him… he disappeared! He just stopped coming to work one day. After summer break, he returned—Erin took it as a sign that she had to try to become friends. Troy, on the other hand, remembers thinking Erin was really pretty, but admits he was completely oblivious that she liked him. Gathering her courage, Erin struck up a conversation with Troy in the break room and soon discovered that they were both moving into the same apartment complex. Erin thought, “What are the chances of that?!” As the new school year started, they realized they both rode the shuttle to campus and began sitting next to each other every day. Slowly but surely, their friendship grew stronger. One memorable night, Troy locked his keys in his car while at work and had to wait for the tow company. Erin’s shift ended before the tow company arrived, so they passed the time with a trip to Dutch Bros. Finally, when Troy’s car was unlocked, he wasn’t ready for the night to end. He asked Erin if he could kiss her—and, of course, Erin said, “Sure.” From that moment on, their lives became intertwined. They moved in together and adopted six cats. After graduating college, Erin became a Registered Nurse in the emergency department at Valley Children's Hospital, and Troy began teaching 7th-grade physical education at Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School. Not long after, they moved into their home and added a dog and a seventh cat to their furry family, because clearly six cats weren’t enough.
