TJ and I met at Califonia State University, Long Beach. He was part of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity, and I was a member of Alpha Phi. Kappa Sigma was hosting a beach volleyball philanthropy event, that I eagerly participated in. Unfortunately, after a hard-fought battle, Alpha Phi was eliminated by Delta Gamma. I had decided to hang out with a friend and hit a ball around. RJ (groomsman) and TJ joined us for a friendly doubles game. I was immediately impressed with TJ's volleyball "skills", and he must have been impressed with mine as well. Later that day, I got a text from him inviting me to what Greek life calls "grab-a-date" Since I had only interacted with these guys for an hour I had to gather the report from my sorority sisters. The results were....interesting. However, the overall consensus was that he and his fraternity are a great time, so I decided to go! We arrived at Los Alamitos Race Track and I chose to place our bet on a horse named "shoulda kissed me". To our surprise, he won, and the rest is history! We moved to Colorado in 2019, after a family reunion in Winter Park made us fall head over heels in love with the state. After 6 years, a house, and two dogs (Mocha and Dasher), TJ asked me to marry him on a sunrise hike in Kailua, Hawaii. Lots of local cats were in attendance. We are so excited to have our friends and family with us to celebrate our union! Remember to bring your dancing shoes!
