Through a friend I found Erin on Twitter and I remember thinking she was so cute. I sent the first message the night after she followed me back and we hit it off immediately. She was living in Massachusetts and I was in Illinois. A year later she came to my boot camp graduation for the marines in San Diego, CA and we finally met in person. It was all smiles and laughs and we’ve been inseparable since.
Erin flew out to spend the week with me in Japan with our bestfriend Cate. I was trying to hide my excitement the whole time so she wouldn’t catch on. We went out to celebrate our anniversary a little early and went to a restaurant in Roppongi Hills. While we were out I had Cate decorate our hotel room with rose petals and cute sticky notes all over. After a romantic night together we returned to the hotel and when she walked into our room, it was all smiles immediately. “No way,” I remember her saying as I got down on one knee and said “Erin Chilicky, will you marry me?” She said yes and the rest is history.
