Question

What is the currency, can you use credit cards & are there ATMs?

Answer

Currency: The currency in Ireland is the Euro (EUR) Credit Cards & ATMs: Credit cards are widely accepted throughout Ireland. It is useful to have Euros for small purchases, and to accommodate smaller businesses. Most American banks do not have Euros on site and need to be orders at least a week ahead of time. Finding an ATM in Ireland is as easy as it is at home. They are on the main streets of every town and city and might be labeled as a “Cashpoint.”

Question

How do I charge my electronics while I'm there?

Answer

In Ireland, the power plugs and sockets are type G, the standard voltage is 230 V, and the standard frequency is 50 Hz. I recommend buying a universal adapter (make sure it has surge protection) and using a converter for hairdryers and hot tools. Here are some great options I have personally used: Good for phones and laptops https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09BZ972Y4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 Good for hairdryers and hair tools https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00WBI0UUY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
