Working For Love

02.11.17

We met at work. He had already been working there and I had just started the winter of 2016. By God's grace, I was placed in the department he worked in. There was the occasional nod of the head as we passed each other by, small talk as we would meet at the fueling stations and smiles that lasted for hours. I had just broken off a relationship and I wasn't really looking for anything else right away. He knew this and we continued to talk as friends for a while. The following weekend, I was in a pretty terrible car accident. Other than my parents, he was the only person I wanted to be by my side. It messed my shoulder up pretty bad but he never failed to check in on me even when I wasn't at work. I was attending physical therapy for a while and he would take me to and from. A few weeks went by and he eventually got the nerve up to tell me, "I know that you are not looking for anything serious right now, but when the window opens I would like to be the first one through it." I was completely taken aback as he was always a rather shy man. So another few weeks went by and one of my all time favorite movies was going to be showing in the theaters. So I walked up to him one night at work and just point blank asked if he would like to go on a date to the movies with me. He never even hesitated. He didn't care what the movie was, he just wanted to go with me. So we planned for the following Saturday to go on our first date. Friday morning as we were getting off work, he asked me if I would come and have breakfast with him, so we actually had a small date before the big date. It was sweet and we shared our first kiss that morning upon leaving breakfast. It was something to definitely look forward to. The day had arrived and he picked me up an hour early. We went and had dinner then to the movies. Later that night as we were driving home, I knew this man was someone I would come to love because he started to sing the BackStreet boys to me on our way back. I was right. Keeper!
