We've come to the conclusion we had to have crossed paths many times during our four years at the University of Rhode Island, but we were never formally introduced until our senior year. I had heard from many friends of this "Buck" character and was told I needed to meet him. One night at the red house with the big deck in Old Eastward, I was in need of a cup for my beverage and I searched for someone who lived there. I finally got Buck's attention and realized who he was as he delivered my drink in a tea cup. We chatted for a bit but didn't go on our first date until later that year. In April, we decided on drinks at Rhody Joes (a favorite spot for URI kids). Although we agreed on drinks, I proceeded to order pulled pork nachos, a Caesar salad and the buffalo chicken mac and cheese. Buck wasn't phased at all that drinks turned into a full course meal (for me)! We connected immediately and realized we had much in common. Drinks at Rhody Joes led to many more dates and daily conversations. By July of that year we recognized this was something special and made it official. The rest is history!

Throughout our relationship, we would plan little vacations around New England. We especially loved traveling to Newport since it reminded us of our time down at URI. During the summer of 2021, Ryan had planned the entire weekend and we had dinner reservations at the Castle Hill Inn. Before we went to dinner, we walked down to the Castle Hill Lighthouse where he proposed just as a sailboat was drifting by, and just like that we were engaged! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter of our lives with you. See you in Kennebunkport!
