As niece of the Annapolis Maritime Museum's Volunteer Coordinator, Erin was often "voluntold" to help out at AMM functions. On one such evening - June 23, 2016 - Erin was assigned to tend bar (no small task, given the average Annapolitan's propensity for drinking). Beyond the typical vodka sodas and dark & stormies, however, Erin and the other bartenders would be serving wine from the museum's newest sponsor, and were scheduled for a brief training with a representative from the wine company. Enter Roy. After an exciting night of pouring drinks, Erin offered Roy some chicken fingers (with honey mustard) and he knew it was meant to be. The first date took place in downtown Annapolis on the 4th of July. Erin got to show off her chopstick skills, they got ice cream, and watched the fireworks on the bay. A truly "perfect" date to start a wonderful relationship.
Roy recreated our first date - sushi, ice cream, and fireworks - before proposing at the maritime museum where we met. But that was just the beginning! The ensuing weekend of family, friends, and fun surprises served as the first of many celebrations of the coming nuptials.
