When I First Saw You

3.15.16

From the moment she walked in the room at Lost Society my breath was taken away. She had a smile that lit up the room and it immediately caught my attention. We engaged in very little small talk about the food I was eating, and the conversation was abruptly halted when she started taking selfies with the people she came in with. All I was left with was my whiskey and flat bread. Who would have known I would see her again exactly two days later and have that same breath taking feeling as if I saw her for the first time all over again. Thinking on my feet, I got her attention by having the DJ say her name over the speakers. Humored by this, she approached me which ultimately resulted in us exchanging numbers. Weeks went by with multiple failed attempts to woo her, until the evening of April 11th when she finally allowed me to take her on our very first date. We ended up talking until 5 a.m. at the FDR monuments. I knew then that our lives were about to change forever...

The Proposal

9.16.17

Knowing that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with Erin was easy, but asking her had to be executed perfectly. While enjoying the family in California just days before her birthday, I was able to sneak her away for a little quality time on a date at one of her favorite restaurants, Geoffrey's, in Malibu. We had the best seat in the house, a table outdoors which overlooked the ocean, and had a light dinner and drinks. As the sun began to set, kissing her mahogany skin, exuding a perfectly radiant glow, I knew she was perfectly crafted by God just for me. The time was rapidly approaching and my heart began to beat stronger than ever! Nerves, excitement, and execution were all that occupied my mind. After dinner, I was finally able to persuade her to take an evening stroll on the beach to watch the sunset. I escorted Erin down through the private entrance, and carried her shoes when we got to the sand. As her fingers interlocked with mine, I knew the time was now. As the sun set, you can hear the waves crashing on the shore...the perfect setting. We turned the corner to see our mothers, and her sisters holding up signs that read "Will You Marry Me?" accompanied by an intimate group of family holding up sparklers. I then dropped to my knee and asked my best friend to spend the rest of her life with me as my better half! Several tears later, Erin said yes. We are so thankful and blessed to have each other. As a result, we could not be more excited to share one of the most monumental moments of our lives with the people that matter most! Thank you for joining us on this journey.
