Maid of Honor
The golden child of the Riley family. Even as our youngest sister, she's always ready to lead the charge - (shout out to her handmade wine cork earring business). Natalie's kind heart inspires me everyday, and I am thrilled to have her at my side as my Maid of Honor. -E
Maid of Honor
OK, let's be real. Anna is a Maid of Honor too. She's just more the kind that does the nitty gritty stuff like asking me hard questions and making sure I'm being the most authentic me I can be. She's a rare bird, and I am SO BLESSED to have her in my flock. -E
Matron of Honor
In our masks, people think she's my twin. She's been with me through thick and thin. Usually, she's stuffing her brain, but on this day I'll steal her and we'll drink champagne. (Em, you are my same toy, different color - my matching pajamas. My real life babydoll.) -E
Bridesmaid
I met Jet in a bible study in Midtown NYC, and we realized we had everything in common but our hair color. We took turns getting up at 4:30am to sign up for auditions and then waited in the cold together. We led worship side by side at Liberty Church and shared many a batch of pancakes in our tiny apartments. She is the sister that I got to choose. A sweet gift from God during one of the most transformative seasons of my life. -E
Bridesmaid
"Zo Bears" is my sweet, Cali-girl cousin. We've have come so far since after-school pick ups and living room dance class, and I'm so proud of the woman she's become. Her bubbly personality, smarts and beautiful voice blow me away every time. -E
Best Man
Andrew is a friend that is loyal and with gentleness will always encourage you to follow the Lord with your life. He’s also good at everything he does, which means I lose a lot of games and challenges to him. He has an adventurous spirit and can make you laugh till your abs hurt. Living at the Maine St house with him, I have more stories than I can write. We've seen each other grow over the past 15+ years and I have no doubt that he should be standing by me on my wedding day. -P
Groomsman
Gabe is a friend who, he and I can be talking about our career/study fields one minute and then a deep conversation about faith the next, not sure how we got there but glad we did. I like our friendship because we are very different; he wakes up early to get stuff done, I do it late at night. He loves sauces and dressings, I eat dry salad. He is loud and I’m quiet or probably taking a nap. I’ve never gotten over how well we worked together as directors at Jr. Camp. Im still unsure how we pulled it off. Gabe was the first of us in the Maine St. house to marry and the first to be a father. I’m excited to have him standing with me come January 2nd. - P
Groomsman
Nathan is one of the most creative minds I have encountered. He can imagine anything and turn into a reality. And if you raise a concern about his approach to a project he'll answer "it's fine", and it usually is. Nathan can cook you a Thanksgiving meal or rewire your home, cry while watching Up or laugh so loud he breaks the couch arm because he slapped it so hard. Living at the Maine house with him was a time that I will never get back but as with the other members, one that I will always remember. I'm joyed to have Nathan standing with me when Erin and I become one. -P
Groomsman
Brek is my best friend from middle school and high school years and basically family. Brek has not only a creative mind but the ability to make words and pictures come alive on whatever whatever medium he uses. He is also the first person who attempted to teach me to dance which is a difficult undertaking. Brek never shy’s away from complex questions and takes time to think deeply about life. I’m excited to have him with me as a groomsman! -P
Groomsman
Garrett is a spark, he is always reading something new, sharing a prospective that you probably hadn't thought about. He is a loyal friend, husband, brother, son and he can get you excited about almost anything. He will encourage you to be the best person and call you out when you haven't been. His love for Jesus is evident and his love for people is impossible to miss. I've known him 1 day less than Erin, and excited to be brothers and sons in law together. It is a no-brainer having him stand with me on my wedding day. -P
Flower Girl
Ava Lee Mün Shafer, my heart melted the first time I held her and it has never recovered. She is smart, I observe how she studies an object to see how it works. Her laugh kindles a fire in my soul. Her love for me is undeserved but fills me with humility and has made me be way more protective than I thought I could be. I knew the day Erin sang "Let It Go" to her over the phone that I was being demoted. She love Erin which is so important to me. Yung and Danielle are raising a precious little girl. I cant wait to be out on the dance floor with her and her slick moves. -P
Flower Twins
These precious twins have been a source of pure entertainment and joy for me. Twice a week they come play at "Bobbi's House," and the three of us go to the park, eat snacks and giggle over our nonsensical inside jokes. If you every find this duo nearby, keep an ear out for their secret language they use to communicate. I'm still trying to figure it out. -E
Ring Bearer
This buddy spends maybe a third of the week at my parents house under the watchful eye of my baby-whisperer mom. He loves his toy kitchen-knives that he calls his "swords," fruit snacks and running around in circles. Every time he says to Phillip and I, "'MON EREN. 'MON PILPUB," my heart melts. -E
Mother of the Bride
Isn't she beautiful? This woman is a fearless super-mom and dedicated friend to all. She's always to first one to roll around in on the floor with babies or dogs or even us...her young adult daughters. I'm confident that if I can be anything like her, I'll stay young forever. Oh, and if you haven't yet, you gotta try her homemade pizza. -E
Father of the Bride
The one who introduced me to Phillip! Look out you guys, this man is tearing up WILL automatically make you tear up every time. Or at least that's what I've learned my whole life - Dad cries, I cry. It's not that he's a wimp or anything, he's a retired Colonel in the US Army for Pete's sake. He just makes you like him so well - the charismatic social butterfly he is - that it's hard not to empathize with whatever emotion he's got. Most of the time that emotion is joy/gratitude. -E
Mother of the Groom
My mom is an example to me of loving sacrifice. She raised Danielle and I on her own, guided by her ability to work hard and by prayer as she looked to the Lord to be her help. She taught me to respect women. She taught me to push myself in school. She showed me how to clean and do laundry (Can you believe I'm domesticated?) all the while saying, "One day your wife is going to thank me." She taught me that the Lord comes first. I get my goofiness from her. If you haven't seen that side of her, just play a game of Sequence with her late at night. I also her storytelling skills are on par with mine. I know she has been waiting a long time to get a daughter-in-law and finally happening! -P
Father of the Groom
Tim has a great sense of humor. Those great one liners that you don't want to miss. He loves Star Wars and musical theater. Also, he cares a lot about others. I've seen his heart to serve my family with eagerness. He takes great care of my mother which is a huge blessing to me as I have grown and left the home. You know he has character because as a Missouri fan he came to Lawrence to meet me for the first time. He has encouraged me over the past 5 years in a way that a young man longs for. I'm excited to have him around as Erin and I start our own family. -P
