Highly Recommended if you can make the 1 hr 45 min drive! In the West Horseshoe Park area you will likely find hundreds of elk and some of the most breathtaking views this close to the front range. Not only is it Elk season, but it should also be peak fall in Colorado. The perfect time to drive through the rest of Rocky Mountain National Park and look at the aspen trees changing color. The true Colorado experience. Note: there may be a fee of up to $25 per car, however they typically wave the fees on this particular weekend.
A beautiful view that is easy to access, about 30 minutes away from the hotel. If you park at the Nature Center and Preserve, you will walk across the street and follow the small trail straight ahead for about 30 ft down the hill. Note that this area is not handicap accessible and you should be wearing flat shoes. P.S. All mountain photos on this website and on our save the date were taken at this spot on Lookout Mountain!
Just 20 minutes from our wedding location. Walk around the legendary Red Rocks during the day or try to see a concert Thursday/Friday!
Insanely close to the hotel: Grab a yummy bite to eat and a quality Colorado beer. This is one of our favorite breweries in Colorado!
Denver is only a short 20 minute drive from the wedding location. There is a lot to do, including all the microbreweries you could ask for, a variety of different foods, and more.
Golden is charming little town about 20 minutes from the venue. You should stop and walk around if you plan on going to Lookout Mountain.
Historic downtown Littleton is a quaint area filled with local businesses. If you don't want to venture too far from the hotel, this is a great place to walk around, shop a little, or grab some food and drink.
Boulder is another fun mountain town about 45 minutes from our venue. There is a lot to do there, but the two most popular things to see are the Flat Irons and Pearl Street Mall. The Flat Irons are iconic mountain features in Boulder. You can drive up to them and get out for pictures, or you can take a little hike up the trail (or a really intense hike all the way to the top). Pearl Street Mall is an adorable cobblestone street that is full of vendors, shops, food, and beer.
1 Hour and 10 Minutes from the venue, Garden of the Gods is a gorgeous area open to the public with giant red rocks shooting out of the ground. Look up some photos, it is definitely worth the trip. We suggest combining this with Pikes Peak if you make the trip.
Take Pikes Peak Highway all the way to the top of one of Colorado's infamous 14ers, Pikes Peak, a.k.a. America's Mountain. While the base of the mountain is only about an hour and a half from the venue, it takes a few additional hours to drive up and back down the mountain. Though it's a long trip, anyone who's been there will tell you it's worth it. The view is unbeatable!
