NON DRINKING Activities by Patrick Meyers

NON DRINKING Activities by Patrick Meyers

Non Drinking Stuff To Do - Canalside – rent a kayak or riverbike and go for a spin in the Marina or down the Buffalo River to Riverworks. - Riverworks – you can rent Kayak’s here as well and also go Ziplining from a giant 6 Pack of Labatt Blue made out of old grain silos. There are other rentals and games here as well. I haven’t done the ziplining yet but there have been ZERO fatalities so far so ZIP AWAY! - Buffalo Naval Park – go scope out the USS Little Rock and USS Sullivans as well as the naval museum is that fits your historical fancy. - Elmwood Village – great city district of bars, shops, and the like. Great for an afternoon stroll before an evening stumble. IT’S A WEDDING WEEKEND. - Coffee Shops - there are a staggering number of local coffee shops throughout town so just fire up your Google Machine. My favorites are Perks, Caffe Aroma, and Grindhaus Café.

Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls, NY

A 25-30 minute drive from the city of Buffalo! Check out the beauty of the falls and the Seneca Niagara Casino or MAKE SURE to bring your passports and continue over the bridge to the SPECTACULAR Canadian side. We usually recommend the Canadian side for the great casinos, gorgeous views, and plenty of fun on Clifton Hill. (The wait at customs can take a bit returning to US side so make sure to leave yourself extra time).

- 716 – great place to watch games, sports bar atmosphere - Liberty Hound – great summer outdoor patio right by naval park - Riverworks – massive bar and events center. Good spot to watch boats and drink - The Draft Room at the Labatt Brew House – newer spot by the arena - Lucky Day – whiskey bar!!! Patrick got me drunk on Japanese whiskey one night there. - ABV – great burger and draft beer spot on Allen. - Gabriel’s Gate – great for wings DON’T GO TO ANCHOR BAR ROOKIE! - Cantina Loco – MARGARITAS and nice outdoor patio - Forty Thieves – my favorite bar. Also excellent wings/tavern food. - Osteria 166 – great Italian/wine joint, very casual. - Ted’s Hotdogs – because its damn’ Ted’s hotdogs. (Chippewa) - Founding Father’s Pub – historic bar with American history do-dads all over the wall. On the “top 25 bars you need to see before you die” list on some tv channel. Either way it’s a landmark so go here. FREE NACHOS. - Rowhouse – cool spot for drinks, coffee, breakfast, lunch, dinner.

Bars/Restaurants part 2

- Mother’s – quiet spot for late night drinks. Local celebrity Bill Fichtner (he’s in every movie you’ve ever seen and ask “what’s that guy’s name?) frequents when in town. - Lloyd Taco - awesome local taco joint with good craft drinks, look for their food trucks as well. - Fat Bob’s - good BBQ, I got sick on corn bread there one night because, well, I ate way too much cornbread. - Flying Bison Brewery – the best of the many breweries in Buffalo. RUSTY CHAIN is King. Tell Tim Herzog (owner/brewmaster) you are here for Erin Meyers’ wedding. - Hydraulic Hearth – great spot for drinks and brick oven pizza. Super cool patio. YOU MAY GET LUCKY AND SEE A DOG OR TWO THERE! - Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino – nice casino, interesting clientele. It’s a casino you get it. - Just Pizza/Mister Pizza/Casa di Pizza, etc – Buffalo style pizza is friggin’ delicious. Just don’t go to a chain and you’re good.

Late Night Eats by Patrick Meyers

Late Night Eats by Patrick Meyers

- Jim’s Steakout – Chicken Finger Subs bay-bay! Leave enough time in the morning for recovery however. - Elmwood Taco & Subs – Good subs and tacos. WAFFLE FRIES. - Allen Street Poutine – Poutine is a Canadian thing, but now it’s our thing, we took it fair and square from those hosers. Google it, but here there a lot of different delicious styles. - Mighty Taco – slighty better than Taco Bell, you’ve been warned and should probably be drunk. Sometimes I eat it during the day and it makes me happy, but then I’m kind of sad a little later.
