Hi there! Meaghan and Erin here. We wanted to tell you our story because it's a pretty good one. We met in 2018 in San Marcos, California during the first semester of physical therapy school. After becoming friends sitting in the front row of anatomy class, Meaghan remembers Erin as the girl who really liked Duke basketball and fishing, and was an LA valley girl that did not fit the Clueless stereotype. Erin remembers Meaghan as the one who always volunteered in class, being obsessed with the Zags, and contrary to Colorado "mountain woman" stereotypes, did actually shave her legs. After studying many days and nights in our anatomy lab, coffee shops and several local breweries, taking a couple of Disneyland trips, and playing lots pick-up ball at the Boys and Girls Club, we knew it was love. During our time in grad school when we weren't studying, we spent a lot of time at the beach in Carlsbad, checking out new restaurants and breweries, and hanging out with classmates. When the pandemic hit and classes were virtual, we spent longer periods of time in LA with Erin's family, and in Denver with Meaghan's. When it came time for our clinical rotations, we had to do long-distance for about 8 months all together as Erin travelled to the exotic cities of Lubbock, TX, Erie, PA and Nashville, TN, while Meaghan was in San Francisco, Houston and Boise. Travel during Covid-times was challenging, but we managed to take a couple short trips to see each other during those long clinical months. It certainly helped that we were both going through the same challenges and growth as students during those tough months. After graduating in Spring 2021, we moved to San Diego where we currently both work in outpatient orthopedic physical therapy (not at the same clinic, we have some boundaries!). Erin spent the Summer of 2022 designing the perfect ring for Meaghan and proposed in October of that year. Erin planned the perfect surprise date day in Julian, CA-- a mountain town about an hour east of San Diego. We spent the morning at the pumpkin patch, picking our pumpkins, fresh flowers and enjoying the crisp fall weather. We stopped in town for hot apple cider and a gander inside the shops, then Erin took us to a mystery location for a picnic. We ended up at Lake Cuyamaca and Erin had packed charcuterie fixings, lunch, and our favorite craft beers. She also brought paints and blank canvases, with the plan to paint our beautiful surroundings (one of Meaghan's favorite hobbies). After we finished painting, Erin popped the question and after blacking out briefly, Meaghan said "Yes!". Several months later, Meaghan returned the question and gave Erin a ring at one of our favorite beaches, followed by a fun day including tailgating for the San Diego Wave FC soccer game. We are currently living in San Diego, and love spending time with friends and family in the area, going to San Diego Wave FC games, watching college basketball (Gonzaga and Duke of course), playing beach volleyball, visiting the Zoo, walking Balboa Park, and always searching for the best latte and beer in San Diego. We love to take weekend trips up to LA and back to Colorado when we can, but always love hosting friends and family in this city we love. We are so excited for all of our guests to be a part of our love story, and cannot wait to see everyone in Golden in a few short months!
