Things To Do

We are excited to share some places to explore while you are in the area. Santa Cruz is famous for its state parks - both beaches and redwood forests. There are countless restaurants, coffee shops, and breweries, too! DINING Crow's Nest offers ocean views and delicious seafood. Shadow Brook is seated on a creek near Capitola Beach, it is an old estate converted into a unique dining experience. We highly recommend! Persephone restaurant serves a seasonally changing farm to table menu with influences ranging from Italian to Middle Eastern. Scenic dining! DRINKS For brews, we recommend Humble Sea Brewery, Beer Thirty, Woodhouse Blending, and Saint Adairius (ranked #9 best brewing company in the world). For coffee, we recommend Verve, Cat & Cloud, and Coffeetopia. ACTIVITIES
Wilder Ranch State Park

Wilder Ranch State Park

1401 Coast Road, Santa Cruz, CA 95060

We recommend hiking Old Cove Landing Trail to Ohlone Bluff Trail. A flat loop trail that offers incredible views of the Pacific Ocean. You may see harbor seals laying out in the coves. You can park just off the entrance to Wilder Ranch, on Cabrillo Highway (Highway 1), to avoid the $10 parking fee.

The Forest of Nisene Marks State Park

The Forest of Nisene Marks State Park

Aptos Creek Road, Aptos, CA 95003

Lorenzo and I enjoy hiking and mountain biking here. The trail begins amid redwood forests and climbs into the mountains. This park is a testament to nature's resilience - the forest was clear cut in the late 1800's.

The Town of Capitola

The Town of Capitola

Capitola, CA

Plenty to eat, drink, and explore in Capitola - a charming beach town know for it's colorful seaside houses. Everything is within walking distance once you're in town. Important Parking Note! There are short-term spaces on the streets for a three-hour maximum. For longer term parking, there is a lot on Cliff Drive west of the Village or in the large Beach & Village lots. Unfortunately, there is a parking attendant that takes their duties seriously. Be sure to keep track of the meter!

Natural Bridges State Beach

Natural Bridges State Beach

2531 West Cliff Drive, Santa Cruz, CA 95060

One of Santa Cruz's great beaches! Here you can explore tide pools and look for marine wildlife - shorebirds, seals, sea otters, and whales. Be sure to check out the Monarch Butterfly Natural Preserve! The monarchs typically arrive mid-October, you can see the butterflies congregating to relax and enjoy the seaside weather until they migrate in Spring.

DeLaveaga Golf Course

DeLaveaga Golf Course

401 Upper Park Road, Santa Cruz, CA 95060

Great course located nearby the Chaminade Resort. Located in the foothills of the Santa Cruz mountains, offers views of the forests and ocean. It is recommended to book online to reserve a spot. For non-golfers, there is a restaurant and lounge as well as several trails to explore.
