In late 2017, I downloaded the dating app Tinder on Wednesday December 27th after a Cooper's Hawk wine tasting. I was shocked by how fun and easy my friend said it was so I made my profile that very night. I had the perfect (basic) fall photo: a plaid scarf, bushel of apples, and a big smile! I wrote in my profile that I am a teacher, golfer, wine & beer enthusiast. Something along those lines. After swiping a few that evening, I come across Kyle- less than 5 miles away! His picture featured his amazing smile grinning ear to ear. His profile was PERFECT. I swiped right immediately. He wanted to find someone to watch The Office and Harry Potter with and go to the Shedd Aquarium. He was also a "beer league hockey all-star" and golfer! After he swiped right back, I plucked up some courage and introduced myself with the line: "Hey, what's up?" We talked all Thursday afternoon after work. We exchanged phone numbers and he suggested meeting on Saturday! Our first date was Saturday December 30, 2017 at Ember's Taphouse in Lockport. I remember it like it was yesterday. Our date was so long and good, my sisters and friends kept texting me to make sure I was okay!! We talked all night over beers and pizza, two of our favorite things. After our first date, we made time during our busy and early morning schedules to have a few weeknight dates throughout January. On Saturday January 20, 2018 Kyle planned this big day for us. We saw a movie together (he fell asleep) and then we went to the city for ice skating (line was too long, but A for effort). In front of the Millennium Park bean Kyle asked me to officially be his girlfriend! Of course I said yes!!! And the rest is history... 950 days later on August 29, 2020 we would move in together in a beautiful home.. in Lockport! 1216 days after our official "Boyfriend-Girlfriend" date, Kyle would ask me to marry him in our beautiful backyard on August 28, 2021.
