We've condensed all the information you may need into this website. Up at the top, you'll notice all of the important tabs, like where to RSVP, our registry, as well as answers to some common questions. Kirk and I are very excited to begin our journey through life together and are looking forward to commemorating the event with you!
Our story began years ago. Kirk and I met at a restaurant in Hammond while I was finishing my bachelor's degree. I was with another guy at the time, waiting for a group of friends to join us. He was with a small group of close friends, his Best Man included. Long story short, Kirk used a silly ruse of palm reading to get my hand into his. He's very charming and knows it. We exchanged numbers, but I rebuffed him for a while. Call it embarrassment or maybe nerves, but eventually I said yes to a first date. By Summer, Kirk and I were seeing each other more regularly, but I don't think we would have called it "dating" at the time. It wasn't until the Fall that Kirk and I truly found each other. I'm not sure what changed between us, if you could call it that. We had accepted our individual situations early on and agreed time spent together meant nothing serious. We were just having fun, no expectations. Looking back, I guess that was sort of silly to assume our relationship could ever stay that way. Time spent together did become significant and started to mean something, and before we realized it, we had slipped into love and were happy. To hear Kirk tell it, he began saving for an engagement ring when we moved to Mandeville in the Summer of 2015 . He knew when he wanted to ask me to be his wife but figuring out where seemed to be his biggest challenge. To be honest, I kept putting any ideas of marriage out of my mind. I didn’t want to get my hopes up. He’s an amazing man, and I still can’t believe I get to be with him. New Year’s Eve, 2017, he and I were sitting on our sofa having one of our usual random conversations. The next thing I knew, he was down on one knee with this beautiful diamond ring in his hand. He looked up at me and said, “I told you I was going to propose by the end of the year.” I melted! He can be such a romantic. Needless to say, our families couldn’t be happier, and he and I are very excited.
