What should I wear?

Answer

Formal attire is requested for the ceremony and reception. Gentlemen, please wear a dark suit and tie. Ladies, please wear a formal dress. The ceremony and reception will be at the Rains family home. The ceremony will be outside and will take place partly on the grass. The reception will take place outside on a hard floor. Cocktail attire is requested for the rehearsal dinner. The dinner will be held outdoors on grass. If you are able to join us for the welcome party, come in anything you feel comfortable in! This party will be outdoors partly on grass.

We politely request that no children attend the ceremony and reception. Thank you in advance for understanding.

Where should I fly into?

Answer

Gulfport airport (GPT) is the closest to Ocean Springs, you can rent a car or uber to Ocean Springs from here. Mobile airport (MOB) is about an hour drive to Ocean Springs or New Orleans airport (MSY) is about an hour and a half drive to Ocean Springs.

Should I rent a car? Is there Uber?

Ocean Springs has Uber and Lyft, however wait times may be longer than they are in most major cities. Book rides in advance or with plenty of time to arrive on time. There are taxi services available as well from the airport, full list of taxi companies on the Gulfport Airport website. If you do opt to rent a car, parking is easy and free everywhere in Ocean Springs. Parking will be available for the rehearsal dinner, welcome party, and ceremony/reception. There will be transportation provided from the Gulf Hills Hotel and the Springs Hotel to and from the ceremony/reception.

Where should I stay?

Answer

There is a room block available at the Gulf Hills Hotel. This waterfront hotel is on Fort Bayou and is a five minute drive to downtown Ocean Springs, where Friday evening events will take place. Transportation will be provided to and from the ceremony/reception from this hotel. If you prefer to stay in a more walkable area for bars and restaurants, stay in Downtown Ocean Springs at the Springs Hotel. There is limited availability of hotel rooms at this boutique hotel. This hotel is within walking distance for the rehearsal dinner and welcome party locations. Transportation will be provided to and from the ceremony/reception from this hotel. If you prefer to stay in a larger hotel or casino in Biloxi, it is about an 10-15 minute drive to all event locations in Ocean Springs. We recommend the Beau Rivage, Hard Rock Biloxi, The Golden Nugget, or Hotel Legends. The Roost Boutique Hotel in Downtown Ocean Springs is reserved for our wedding party accommodations.
