we're so happy you're here

It all started as Erin nervously entered Mrs. Guilianni's 5th-grade class as a new student at Todd Lane Elementary, the same class Kev was assigned to that year. Jump ahead to 2013 at our senior-year band camp where Erin stole Kev's drumsticks to get his attention--a bold move, I'll admit. I relentlessly sought out his attention and SPOILER: It worked. We began talking, went on our first date to Kane Road drive-in near our high school, and the rest is history! Who knew that 3,288 days later we would be getting married, certainly not Kevin.

At a minimum, we were an 8-minute and at most 13 hour-drive apart. However, in the end, distance made the heart grow fonder. Kevin studied Intelligence at Mercyhurst University in Erie, PA while Erin stayed at her family home in Center to work on her associate's degree at the CCBC. She then moved to Chapel Hill, NC to finish her bachelor's where she's been ever since. In 2016 Erin found their beloved rescue pup, Sutton on the side of the road in West Virginia traveling back home to Pittsburgh for the holidays. Upon graduation, Kev was able to land a job with the Department of Defense in Quantico, VA. 13 hours shorted to three and we've spent many weekends between houses while Erin finishes her D.D.S. at Chapel Hill.

2020 brought a lot of changes for us all, but the more things change, the more they stay the same. Kev and Er found their way to the nearest drive-in in Henderson, NC to celebrate their 7-year anniversary. As Dirty Dancing came to an end and the music faded, I (Erin) reached in the back seat only to return to the front and be met with a proposal. I could hardly wait for Kev to finish to say "YES!!!" Fun fact: I (Erin) knew I wanted to marry Kev only a few months into our relationship so I had been dreaming of this moment for a long time. :-)
