Our Parthenon is in better shape than the original! But seriously, you have to see it to believe it. A nice park surrounds the building and is located across from Vanderbilt University.
A really nice museum even if you're not a die-hard country fan.
The original home of the Grand Ole Opry and the most famous music venue in town. Offers tours during the day.
This brand new museum covers everything from African American spirituals to the Jazz Age to contemporary music. The museum is located next to Assembly Food Hall and the Ryman.
Nashville's best art museum, located Downtown with a rotating schedule of exhibitions.
Downtown has gotten very commercial/touristy in recent years and, frankly isn't the same as it was 10 years ago. There are still fantastic honky tonks on Lower Broad where you can hear live country and Western music almost any time of day. Robert's is our favorite, followed by Layla's. Tootsie's Orchid Lounge is famous, but very crowded.
One of the city's oldest venues to hear live bluegrass music.
This massive food hall is brand new and offers a ton of food options, including Nashville's famous Prince's Hot Chicken. Several bars and shops are located at Assembly as well.
For real Southern food (fried chicken, mac n cheese, etc.) served family style, this is the place to go but there's always a wait.
One of the most iconic parks in Nashville, Percy Warner is located at the end of Belle Meade Boulevard and features a long stone staircase. There are gorgeous views at the top. (Erin used to have to run up those steps during soccer preseason, brutal!) Percy Warner offers a bunch of paved and unpaved trails for exploring. A true gem.
Located about 20 minutes from Downtown in Belle Meade, Cheekwood has gorgeous gardens to explore as well as art galleries.
12 South is a fun neighborhood for walking around, with shops, cafes, bars, etc.
East Nashville is a hip part of town just across the river from Downtown. There are tons of restaurants, bars, boutiques and parks to check out.
Located in East Nashville, Shelby Bottoms is a great spot for walking, running or biking along the river.
