We met during our freshman year of college at the University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire. Erin was on a "BOYcott" during the first semester, so ignored the multitude of people telling her to ask Evan on a date. When spring semester rolled around, Erin cracked first and told Evan she liked him (she first had to make him turn around because she was so nervous). We have really improved at talking face-to-face in the past three years of being together, and am looking to having lots of practice as we spend forever together!
Erin told Evan she wanted to be surprised when they got engaged, and he certainly did his job! The morning after Erin took the GRE exam, Evan planned a date to celebrate being done. He had convinced Erin that he was not proposing until September, so it was much to her surprise when he led her to the rooftop of an apartment overlooking Stillwater, had her turn around, and asked her to marry him.
When asked how wedding planning was going, Erin would often say "It's actually going really well! I mean as long as nothing crazy happens, I think it will go perfectly!". It turns out that something "crazy" meant a global pandemic. Though it was a difficult decision, Erin and Evan decided to still get married on their original date surrounded by their immediate family and wedding party at the Lundeen family cabin. Despite the stress of having to re-plan their special day, it ended up being the perfect way to enter into marriage together. They are excited to celebrate with many of their loved ones who could not come to the wedding in May at their reception on May 8, 2021.
