Wedding Party

We feel incredibly lucky to have so many amazing friends and family in our lives that choosing a large wedding party felt impossible. Instead, we’ve kept things simple and chosen three people who hold a very special place in our hearts. Meet our Matron of Honor, Best Man, and Personal Attendant—three of our biggest supporters and dearest friends.

Sari Waytashek

Matron of Honor

Sari is my “big” from our sorority days at St. Cloud State University, but she’s always felt more like my second mom. She’s the one who nursed me back to health when I was sick (or, let’s be honest, hungover), arranged for someone to bring me gas when I ran out on the side of the road, and even coordinated her husband to drive me across Minneapolis to retrieve my phone from an Uber. Basically, if there’s a crisis, Sari has the solution. Beyond being the ultimate problem-solver, she’s been a loyal, lifelong friend—visiting Erik and me several times since we moved to San Diego in 2022. I was lucky enough to be her maid of honor, and now I get to return the favor with her by my side as mine!

Taylor Burleson

Best Man

I first met Taylor in 2017 during a summer baseball internship. We weren’t especially close then, but a year later we ended up working for the same team in small-town Nebraska—and that’s where our friendship really took off. Since then, we’ve racked up countless adventures: cross-country road trips, hiking mountains in Colorado, spring break in Miami, and a few nights out we still can’t fully explain. We’ve survived everything from sketchy Nebraska apartments to bachelor parties that should’ve come with warning labels. Through it all, Taylor’s been the same loyal, dependable, and hilarious friend since day one. Whether it’s celebrating life’s big moments or laughing about how our teams have let us down again, he’s always there. I couldn’t imagine anyone else standing by my side as my best man.

Elise Nelson

Personal Attendant

My sister—my only sibling and lifelong built-in opposite. She’s simple, I’m “extra” (or “boujee,” according to her). We didn’t always get along growing up, but over the years our bond has grown into something I truly treasure. She’s responsible, dependable, and I couldn’t imagine standing at the altar without her by my side.
