Eric and I met our Freshman year at Michigan State University. We lived on the same floor of Wilson dorm. For Eric, it was love at first sight. For me, I thought he was just a weirdo. Luckily, by Christmas, I came to my senses and realized just how much I loved his goofiness. He quickly became my best friend. One day on the bus, that best friend yelled out to me to ask me to join him for lunch with friends. It was at that lunch that I got to know his loving, compassionate personality and truly started falling for him. We began dating in January 2014 and have been together ever since.

Erin had been hinting very strongly to Eric- okay, let's be honest, she was straight up telling him to propose... In Summer 2019, Eric and Erin went on a trip to Ireland with Erin's family. While in Ireland, the two found themselves standing on this beautiful mountaintop overlooking the Irish coastline and a little pond in a field between them and the coastline. It was a gorgeous view. The two were up there alone, enjoying this special moment of quiet and peace. But, Eric wasn't quite ready to propose... Flash forward to Summer 2020: Erin and Eric talked about taking a much needed vacation to get away from the craziness that this year has been for a bit. They decided on camping (really more "glamping") at Sleeping Bear Dunes. Eric planned a hike out onto Empire Bluff on the first day. Erin and Eric went on this little hike with some of their friends. When they got to the edge of the bluff, it overlooked a view very similar to that beautiful view they had enjoyed together in Ireland the year before. It was here that Eric chose to propose and ask Erin to be his wife.
