One of our favorite restaurants, Amada is a beautiful Tapas restaurant featuring impeccable small plates and cocktails in Philadelphia's historic Old City neighborhood.
Terakawa Ramen
The best ramen spot in Philly! Frequently packed, we recommend visiting for lunch or early dinner, then taking a stroll through Chinatown for some boba tea!
A La Mousse
This is our favorite spot for a small dessert - they have fantastic macarons, beautifully decorated mousses, and light cakes.
Chinatown
Philadelphia's Chinatown is a great neighborhood full of delicious food and is conveniently located within walking distance to Center City and the historic Old City neighborhoods. We both love Nan Zhou Hand Drawn Noodle House and the Korean restaurant, Dae Bak.
Iffy Books
One of our favorite bookstores, Iffy Books offers a small selection of books and zines on hacking, free culture, gardening, and adjacent topics. For tinkerers and thinker-ers(?), Iffy books is the best!
The Book Trader
Whenever Erin and I are in Old City, we always stop by The Book Trader. The long, narrow hallways made by massive, looming bookshelves create such a cozy and inviting atmosphere. There's a book here for everyone! You may even find the resident feline, Dr. Pickles, snoozing inside! This is a great spot to visit late - they're open until 10pm!
Italian Market 9th Street
The famous Italian Market on 9th Street features purveyors of produce, seafood, and meats, along with delicious pizza and ice cream shops, it's a fantastic place to stroll for an afternoon.
