Long Island has over 1000 miles of coastline and sports some of the best beaches in the country. Honorable mentions include: Jones Beach Robert Moses Beach Cedar Beach (+fun beach bar/restaurant) The Hamptons Montauk (shopping, restaurants, Montauk light house) Fire Island National Seashore (ferry requires)
Besides beaches, Long Island has over 60 wineries and vineyards. These can be found mostly out on the east end of the Island, either on the south or north fork and each have tasting rooms and outdoor areas for hanging out and enjoying the nice summer weather. To name a few of the Brides favorites: Osprey's Dominion Bedell Cellars Del Vino Vineyards Sparkling Pointe Pindar Vineyards
There are an unlimited amount of breweries located throughout the island. Usually a great place to go on a nice sunny day, with live music and food trucks. Just to name a few of our favorite spots: Long Island Farm Brewery Peconic County Brewing Garvies Point Brewery Bluepoint Brewery Great South Bay Brewery Jamesport Brewery
Outside of NYC there are plenty of places on Long Island to get time in for some retail therapy. Tanger Outlets in Riverhead, NY is a very common place to get great deals on high end items. There are also many local malls, and of course the city itself in which every major brand has its own shop.
Some of you may want to venture in to the Big Apple if you are here for a longer stay. A couple tourist activities we can recommend are: Little Italy Ellis Island/Statue of Liberty Empire State Building Freedom Tower Broadway shows Central Park 9/11 Museum and memorial
