Dan and I worked together at a local catering company. We both weren't really looking for love and I was about to graduate college. Being near the end of the best college experience ever, I was celebrating often and had no money. My dad had 1 rule - only use his credit card for emergencies (whoops). Dan and I were working a VERY long work week and everyone was so tired, so I took it upon myself to buy everyone a coffee before our shift started. Well I was out of money so I panicked and used my dad's card. That wasn't my best idea but hey look where it got us! I almost immediately got a call from my dad and naturally he was upset. I rushed out of the work tent so no one would see me cry but Dan noticed and ran after me. He tried to make me feel better by making a joke which did make me laugh and of course my piercing blue eyes that change color when I cry left a lasting impression. I remember leaving work and calling my mom to tell her that the Chef is such a nice guy and a few hours later he messaged me on Facebook to "check in to make sure I was okay" - which later led to him asking me on a date. We hung out a few times and a week later Dan gave me a call to ask if I wanted to go out downtown Charleston because his uncle was visiting - I decided to go. We had the BEST time and we knew that this was something special. We quickly moved in together, got some dogs, bought a house, and now here we are getting married and ready to celebrate with our family and friends!
