Move in weekend for college kids and families is an exciting time in their lives. This story deals with two people who have already graduated college, lived a little life, and were in the process of starting their careers and finishing up their Master's degrees. On that move in weekend, Chris was working the student ID line and Erin was in the heart of training season for the cross country program. With all those people moving around, thousands coming and going, Chris noticed the one running back and forth across the balcony catwalk. Fortunately for Chris, the person that was working the ID line with him happened to be Erin’s roommate. So, when the question of “who is that?!?!?” was asked it was a pretty easy answer. Their story does not start there though. Instead, it started over the course of that fall semester as Chris put himself in some pretty “convenient” positions. A hurricane was headed to Boca, so Chris offered Erin a place to stay. She pleasantly declined and Chris's next opportunity would come when the cross country team had a race in Lakeland, FL. As luck would have it, Chris was there recruiting. On September 27, 2019, Chris texted Erin to meet for a drink. This time, Erin agreed but asked for a rain check. Over the next couple weeks Chris and Erin got to know each other through text message and the athletic department held multiple meetings. Somehow, the only seat Chris could find was around Erin. Now, yes, Chris did most of the chase, but the first time Chris and Erin hung out was actually two days before their first date when Erin showed up at Chris's house with two warm shots of Patron in hopes of celebrating the 1st anniversary of passing her RDN exam. The follow week while watching the World Series, Erin did a swanton bomb over the couch and onto Chris. From that moment on, the love and care continued to grow each day through Covid, through becoming parents, moving from Florida to Iowa, and everything else in between. Oh and, yes, Erin kissed Chris first :)
