It’s often been said that the most wonderful love stories begin in... COVID-19 pandemic quarantine at the Naval Academy. Haha, jk. But, alas, being locked up in Bancroft Hall with nothing but endless tournaments of Spike Ball surely would yield the future Mr. & Mrs. Cade and Erin Ogden. Erin Holton is one of the most driven, generous, and creative gals you’ll ever meet. She’s got a gift of servant leadership, loves big & has a Google doc for just about every corner of her life. Meeting her future husband just 3 months prior to commissioning as a Naval Officer was not penciled in her calendar. However, in strolled Mr. Cade Ogden. In *stormed* Cade. While Erin was on Facetime with me, Cade interrupted our phone call and introduced himself. Not a surprise because Cade is bold, wholly himself and confident. He's an enneagram 3 and his plan worked. I love that he grounds Erin, leads her in faith, and is a true Southern gentleman. Erin and Cade’s friendship grew as they detailed plebe summer together, went on questionably long walks, and devoured pints of Ben & Jerry’s. (Side note: boys fall fast for Erin. This makes one question her long-standing singleness. It’s not that she never had a roster... she just never met one worthy of playing ball in her game.) One night, Cade was up to bat. He swung as he confessed his love for her, assertively communicated his intentions of a Jesus-centered relationship & proceeded to hit a grand slam with a dime piece, Erin. Hand in hand and Facebook official, they went on to binge-watch the Twilight series, spent hours practicing swing dancing from YouTube tutorials and crushed any and all spike ball opponents they faced. In June 2021, Cade proposed in San Clemente, CA and the two are overwhelmed with joy to marry. Erin says: "Cade is overly competitive & has the most gentle heart, all at once." Cade says: "Erin is the most beautiful woman inside and out, & she somehow always has a gift waiting for me any time I have a bad day."
