They met in the spring of 2013 at UMass when Brendan's roommate Conor invited his friend Erin to their house. Brendan was into Erin off the bat but Erin had just gone through a breakup and was oblivious to Brendan's (weak) signals. They stayed friends of friends until bumping into each other in the summer of 2015 out dancing in Newport, RI and made a plan to reconnect after Erin finished grad school in 2016. Once Erin finished school they spent the next few years going on some of the most memorable group snowboarding and hiking trips thinking they would just be friends, until 2019 when they both thought that maybe this could maybe be something!

The stars aligned and the decision to propose was made just 48 hours before! A weekend in the Catksills with close friends that had been planned for months just so happened to line up with uncommon decision for Erin to get her nails done. When that coupled with the decision for Brendan to drive a "boys car" and Erin to drive a "girls car", Brendan asked the boys if he could make a pit stop in western Mass. and ask Erin's parents for their blessing (and Erin's grandmother's ring!). Although the ski weekend was all rain and no snow, everyone was having a great time nonetheless. A few mugs of hot wine later Erin told Brendan she felt like things were "perfect" which he now says sealed his decision. Brendan decided not to wait till later as planned so he asked a friend to record, spun Erin around to the woodstove, and next thing she knew he was on one knee. Her shock was apparent as she had thought this wouldn't be coming for a long time so her first response was a series of around a dozen no's (in disbelief), but then a "really?", followed by a yes. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Boston!
