Our story begins like that of many other millennials – dating apps! We initially connected over our shared love of traveling, since we both had pictures of us with our families in front of Mont Saint-Michel on our dating profiles. From there, we bonded over sports, music, and growing up in NoVA. One of our first dates took place at The Anthem; a music venue right next door to Pearl Street! It went so well that we bought tickets during the encore to another show that took place 2 months later, we were both confident that this was the real thing. Our first year of dating was full of countless commutes between Arlington and DC, exploring new restaurants, going to concerts, hiking, and attending sporting events – thankfully Ben is a Caps fan and Erin tolerates the early morning wake ups for Manchester United games. Moving in together was our next big step which really solidified our relationship, as Benny (the cat) accepted Ben into the family, despite some early scratches and the shared name. We’ve also had the opportunity to travel around the globe: we've snorkeled in Hawaii, shredded in Whistler, explored Iceland and the UK, saw Taylor Swift in Sweden, and got engaged in New Zealand (as Erin’s parents like to say: nobody travels more than Ben and Erin!). Last year included the big life events of buying a house together in Falls Church, VA and adding a new family member, our puppy Rooney (who is barking in our ears as we write this). Needless to say Benny has not fully embraced him yet.. We’ve continued to grow with each other – tackling house projects, cooking new recipes, and exploring our community during long dog walks. We are so excited to celebrate our next chapter with our families and closest friends!
