The Love Story

Testimony

Austin and Erin attended the same high school but did not develop a close relationship until after graduation in 2014. Their friendship began through a mutual friend, and eventually evolved into a romantic relationship. At that time, Erin was 18 and Austin was 17. Their relationship started off exciting and exhilarating however, it soon faced challenges due to many factors including immaturity, insecurities, jealousy, selfishness, pride, and various other issues. Over the span of eight years, they went through multiple breakups and reconciliations, ultimately losing track of their efforts to sustain the relationship. In 2017, they had their beautiful daughter, Aria, however the recurring issues in their relationship persisted. In late 2019, following an argument with Erin at a gathering, Austin, left in a condition that was unsafe for driving and subsequently collided with another vehicle. He woke up in the hospital the next morning with limited memory of the incident. As a result, he faced legal consequences; however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, his court case was delayed for two years. During this period, Austin and Erin reunited but ultimately separated for the final time in June 2021, with little hope of mending their relationship. In the summer of 2022, Austin's court case finally took place, resulting in a sentence of two years in prison, and he was taken into custody immediately. This event marked a significant and life-altering moment for both Austin and Erin. They both had to rapidly adapt to their new circumstances: Austin as an inmate in a state prison and Erin as a newly single parent. In many ways, they were compelled to reevaluate their lives and make decisions that would shape their future trajectory. During this period, Erin sought to deepen her understanding and faith, ultimately deciding to dedicate her life to Jesus, recognizing her profound need for strength and healing. Concurrently, during his time in prison, Austin faced a multitude of situations that profoundly affirmed for him that it was in Jesus he needed to place his unwavering trust. He also met several men in prison, that became his brothers. Together, they gathered each night to pray and study scripture. Austin ultimately made the decision to surrender his life to Jesus and was baptized while in prison. As Erin and Austin experienced new revelations and experiences, they communicated regularly through phone calls and a messaging platform. Over a short time it became evident that the challenges they once faced had been washed away, and God had performed a miracle in each of their hearts and minds. They knew that this was a chance for them to have a new beginning, and to build a new foundation. They ultimately reconciled their relationship and committed to making Jesus the focal point of their lives. In the summer of 2024, Austin was released from prison and reunited with his family. Since that time, he has been dedicated to building a new life for them based on a foundation of faith and devotion to Jesus. On Christmas of 2024 Austin officially proposed to Erin and asked for her hand in marriage. They are now looking forward to solidifying their journey of redemption, reconciliation, and restoration, and sharing this miracle with their family and friends. "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28
