How We Met

First comes band, then comes marriage.

Erin and Arman "officially" met in Marching Band at Syracuse University in 2014. They ran in the same circles through the SUMB fraternity (Kappa Kappa Psi) and sorority (Tau Beta Sigma). They met again in March of 2015 through mutual friends. Arman was dragged out from studying for the MCAT by some friends to crash a party that Erin was at. Arman pretended he was happy to be there, Erin pretended to like beer, and the rest is history.

Our Relationship Timeline

Erin and Arman began dating in 2015 after being formally introduced in marching band and informally introduced by friends. They dated for a year and a half before Arman graduated college and moved to Washington, DC for medical school at George Washington University. After Erin graduated 2 years later, she decided to move down to Washington, DC as well to pursue her Masters in Public Health at the same school. They lived in DC for two years before moving across the river to Alexandria, Virginia where they now live with their 5 year old Australian Shepherd, Bella and as of February, their 1 year old kitten, Zelda.

How He Proposed

Arman went to work one fateful day at Children's National Hospital and took a poll of how he should propose to Erin. Other students and residents told him to go to one of her favorite places, a winery, and surprise her. He took the rest of the day off and drove to a winery to check it out with some friends. Arman decided it was good to go, and roped in Erin's friend Susan to help pull off the surprise. Susan asked Erin out on a "girls day" and Erin totally fell for it. The morning of the proposal, Arman took Erin to get her second COVID shot in his work scrubs before dropping her off at Susan's. He immediately drove to the winery and Susan followed a few minutes later. Once they arrived, Arman was asking Erin for pictures of everything and encouraging her to explore. Everyone seemed to be encouraging Erin to explore, however she was content to sit and sip wine at the table for 45 minutes before Susan insisted they walk around. When Susan finally dragged Erin over to the beautiful seats overlooking the vineyard and valley, Arman emerged from the weeds, covered in bug bites, and the first thing he said to her was "you are so stubborn". He gave a very lovely speech, and even though he misquoted Taylor Swift, Erin said yes.
