If you ask any Badger alum what one should do on a sunny afternoon in Madison, there's a 90% chance they'll say "go to the Terrace and grab a beer!" As the only student union in the United States that serves beer (or so as I was told once upon a time), it's also a hot spot for live entertainment, boating, and eating ice cream. You'll also find the bridal party here between the ceremony and the reception taking some pictures, and probably having a pitcher of beer.
The Wisconsin State Capitol boasts free tours and a beautiful rotunda where you can capture some excellent views of the Isthmus. If protesting is your jam, you can probably catch one of those too!
Local shops, unique restaurants, Badger apparel, eclectic people watching--State Street is another must-do! You can traverse State Street from the bottom of Bascom Hill on Library Mall up to the Capitol. State Street is pedestrian-only, but watch out for buses and bikes!
THE BIGGEST FARMERS MARKET IN WISCONSIN. Our wedding venue is just a few steps from the Farmers Market. We highly recommend taking a spin around the Capitol Square to snatch some Stella's Cheesy bread at the Farmer's Market before taking a seat in the pew.
Free Zoo--need we say more?
Our favorite coffee shop in Madison!
The home of the best football team in the United States (ask any Badger alum).
You have not had pizza until you've had Salvatore's Pizza Pies.
As lifelong Wisconsintes, we know our cheesecurds and our old fashioneds. The Old Fashioned serves cheesecurds just the way the should be--cripsy, golden, and gooey.
This brewery is one of Madison's more well-known breweries. Also, it's just a skip away from our reception venue!
