Erin's perspective: After being friends in high school, we lost touch for the better part of the next decade aside from meeting up once every couple of years to adventure together. In 2015, we both ended up on climbing trips to Vantage in Washington. I remember being so overjoyed to see Ali and thought to myself..."if I'm so excited to see Ali, and we've always loved to adventure together, we should probably see where this could go!" Next came what I thought were a series of dates, and Ali thought were a series of friend hangouts. It finally clicked for Ali that we were actually dating, and the rest is history. Ali's Perspective: Erin and I had been friends in school and always kept in touch over the years. In the summer of 2015 I saw some climbing pictures pop up on her social media and gave her grief that she had been learning to climb without telling me. After a bit of back and forth we managed to loosely organize a group trip down to Vantage with our two groups of friends. I was obsessed with climbing and really excited that Erin was learning. After Vantage we went climbing a few more times, and I figured I might have her hooked on the sport. While climbing was definitely part of it, I soon found out that Erin had additional motives. Once I clued in, I was even more excited - almost 7 years later and I'm still in awe of how lucky I am to have such an amazing woman by my side!
