Is there a hotel block for wedding guests?

Answer

Yes! We have a block of rooms reserved at the Athenaeum Hotel for both Friday and Saturday nights. This hotel is also our reception venue, so we highly recommend staying there. When can we start making hotel reservations?

Answer

The Athenaeum reservation office is open for 2021 bookings. We recommend making your reservations ASAP if you want to get rooms with the best lakeside views. Please visit the "Travel+Accommodations" tab for details.

How do I get to Chautauqua from Out of State?

Answer

We recommend flying into either the Buffalo or Erie airport and renting a car. It is approximately a 1.5 hour drive from the Buffalo airport. Please visit our "travel + accommodations" tab for details. If you are coming from the Pittsburgh area, it is approximately a 2.5 hour drive.

Can I take an Uber from the airport?

Answer

Please keep in mind that Chautauqua, NY is a small town. It may be very easy to get an Uber at the Buffalo airport to take you to the hotel. HOWEVER, it will be more difficult to take an Uber from the hotel back to the airport after your stay. There are not frequently multiple cars available in the Chautauqua area. Please plan accordingly.

When can I check-in/check-out of the Hotel?

Answer

Check-ins at the Athenaeum are accepted beginning at 12 pm & all rooms are guaranteed by 3pm. Check-out time is 11am the day of departure.

IS THERE A SHUTTLE TO AND FROM THE HOTEL TO THE CEREMONY?

Answer

There will be a shuttle service provided for anyone needing extra assistance. Otherwise, the Hall of Philosophy is a short 4 minute walk from the Athenaeum Hotel.

Are the ceremony and reception location wheelchair accessible?

Answer

Yes. Both the Athenaeum Hotel and the Hall of Philosophy are accessible. However, the walking route between the two is not perfect. Therefore, we will have a shuttle service available. Cocktail Attire - typically a suit and tie or a cocktail dress. No ball gowns or tuxes necessary ;)
