Yes, we will provide hand sanitizer at the ceremony and reception.
We encourage you to bring a mask. We will also have masks available at the ceremony
We will go forward with our wedding as planned, with a reduced guest list. If phase two is implemented, we will not have room for plus-ones. We strongly encourage guests who are no longer comfortable attending to reach out as soon as possible. We will also contact you directly to let you know if we able to have you in attendance.
Our email addresses are sshigginbotham16@gmail.com and enlottes@gmail.com. Our phone numbers are: 434-907-8560 (Sumner) and 540-273-4390 (Erin).
In the case of restrictions limiting gatherings to ten or fewer people, we will postpone our wedding to sometime in 2021 or 2022.
The ceremony will be held in the outdoor grassy area adjacent to the Freight Shed- also referred to as the Yorktown Performance Area. The ceremony will have socially-distanced seating for older guests, and we expect the younger guests to stand also socially-distanced by household groups. Masks and hand sanitizer will be available for guests before the ceremony.
The Freight Shed includes a brick patio with three large glass doors opening from the reception hall to the patio covered by a large tent. These large doors will also be kept open (weather permitting) during dinner to maximize ventilation, and throughout the night. The dance floor and bar will be out on the patio to encourage guests to socialize outdoors. Additionally, the Freight Shed patio opens to the Yorktown boardwalk. While all alcohol must be consumed within the tent or building, we welcome guests socializing on the boardwalk as well if they feel the need for more space.
Please stay home if you are experiencing symptoms of COVID 19. We encourage the use of a mask while indoors, and encourage the use of hand sanitizer. If you are not comfortable attending, we understand completely. Your health and safety are important to us, and we will celebrate with you when we see you again!
