Walk down Water Street between Highland and Knapp and sample over a dozen bars. Some of the places to stop are Water Street Brewery, Porman’s, Bar None, Red Rock Saloon and AJ Bombers. Don’t miss Duffy’s, Trinity Three, Milwaukee Paddle Tavern and the Harp one block west on Juneau. Then cross the Milwaukee River to the Der District and find a whole lot more along Old World 3rd Street and Juneau, including Buck Bradley’s, Uncle Buck’s, The Beer Garden, Good City Brewery and the Loaded Slate.
Lakefront Brewery and Beer Hall has great beer, cheese curds and pretzels. A very good tour.
Koz’s Mini Bowl is a true Milwaukee classic. Four lanes of mini bowling (the pins are still set by hand), a pool table, darts and an old school jukebox. Nothing fancy here. Just fun.
Harley Davidson Museum is one of Milwaukee’s top tourist destinations. What else says Milwaukee more than Harley Davidson?
Milwaukee Art Museum boasts an extensive collection of nearly 20,000 works, representing such artists as Pablo Picasso, Georgia O'Keeffe and Andy Warhol. The building itself is beautiful, and the views of the lake are stunning.

Basilica of St. Josaphat proves you do not need to go to Europe to see a truly beautiful church. Milwaukee has many stunning houses of worship., but this is the most notable. Feel closer to God and see the skill of late 19th Century artisans.
Potawatomi Casino offers high-stakes bingo, nearly 100 hundred table games, nearly 3,000 slot machines, a 20-table Poker Room, a 500-seat theater and an Off-Track Betting Room. Plus, the restaurants are surprisingly good and varied. You might be tempted to skip the wedding and keep gaming, but don’t. This one of the larger casinos outside of Nevada and Atlantic City.
Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner: Buckley’s is a quaint place with excellent food. Sit outside on a nice day and enjoy a drink.
Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner: Stella Van Buren is a great restaurant. Slightly pricey, but a very nice place with very good steaks, excellent Italian food, creative sandwiches and very good breakfasts. Inside the Westin.
Breakfast Buffet: The Pfister (Rogue Dining Room) has one of Milwaukee’s ultimate buffet-style brunches on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Multiple carving stations, made to order pasta and omelet stations, a mimosa and signature Bloody Mary bar and over forty unforgettable items to choose from, surely appetites will be satisfied. Plus, you can see the classic, beautiful hotel lobby. Reservations suggested.
Breakfast or Lunch: County Clare Pub and Restaurant is an Irish-themed restaurant with a very good breakfast and reasonably priced sandwiches.
Breakfast or Drinks Outside: Wicked Hop is a bar with a very good breakfast and good service. Great Bloody Mary’s.
Lunch or Dinner: Doc’s Commerce Smokehouse has the best barbeque anywhere. The fatty brisket and chicken wings are each out of this world, and the ribs and sausage are excellent. Sample from the incredibly extensive beer and bourbon lists. Fun place. Good music. Very casual. A Wirth favorite.
Lunch or Dinner: Bavette la Boucherie has some of the best food in Milwaukee. Not a fancy atmosphere, but excellent sandwiches and meals. A short Uber or car ride.
Dinner: Crazy Water is a foody place with a varied and interesting menu. A bit pricey, but always worth it.
Lunch or Dinner: Elsa's on the Park is known for its grilled cheese, pork chop sandwich and burgers. After eating, have dessert at Classy Girl Cupcakes.
