The Giant Ledge trailhead, located in the Slide Mountain Wilderness, is 3 miles south of Full Moon Resort on county Rt. 47. Follow the yellow marked Woodland Valley- Denning trail .75 miles to its juncture with the blue marked Giant Ledge-Panther trail. The entire out and back hike is 3.5 miles with a 1,100 elevation gain, and has views both to the east and the west at the summit!
Slide Mountain is the tallest peak in the Catskills, with spectacular views, 4,180' above sea level. The Slide Mountain Trailhead is located 5 miles south of Full Moon Resort on country Rt. 47. Follow the yellow marked Woodland Valley-Denning Trail southwest for .70 to its juncture with the red marked Burroughs Range Trail, turning left for 2 miles. The total distance is 2.7 miles with a 1,780 elevation gain to the summit.
McKenley Hollow Trail is located at the end of McKenley Hollow Rd, 2.5 miles from Full Moon Resort. The trail stars off easy, but turns into a pretty strenuous climb. It has some great views once the leaves fall, but otherwise provides the chance to observe a variety of bird and animal life.
Last Clove Trail is located at the end of Last Clove Rd, 3.5 miles from Full Moon Resort.
Check out the Esopus Creek or the Neversink River in the Slide Mountain Wilderness, or the Beaverkill or Willowemoc Rivers in the Big Indian Wilderness for some of the best fisheries in the Catskills!
