Then, one seemingly random evening, 21 year old Erikha found herself asking a mutual friend about Jonathan. The friend passed along her number without hestitation, and in no time, Erikha received an immediate text message from Jonathan. This simple exchange led to their first date in the fall of 2015 at The Williams Pub Cafe. It was a sweet and simple meeting over coffee, and both were new to the dating scene, unsure of what to expect. The connection was there, but for reasons neither could explain, life took them in separate directions, and nothing came of it. Perhaps the timing wasn’t right, but fate had other plans. In May of 2016, their paths crossed once more. This time, in a way neither could have predicted. Both found themselves unexpectedly signed up for the Brampton Beach Volleyball League at Chingcousy Park, where Tuesday night games would stretch weeks into the end of Summer. Jonathan, who had joined with his former ETR 407 colleagues, and Erikha, who had signed up with her cousins, were now drawn into the same orbit every week, as if life was nudging them back together, week after week. Tuesdays Volleyball nights quickly became one of their favourite days of the week and what began as casual banter on the volleyball court soon turned into multiple dates that summer, each one bringing them closer together. Starting from that unpredictable season, their bond deepened since and they realized they had found something truly special. Their families shared very similar values, and their personalities complemented each other beautifully. Jonathan’s quick wit and boisterous energy balanced perfectly with Erikha’s generous and warm soul. From what once felt long overdue, Jonathan and Erikha went from two lives quietly intertwined to now beautifully and unmistakably connected. Looking back on their journey, it’s clear that every step led them to this moment, guided by God’s perfect timing.
