This past year neither Erik nor Mallory expected the beautiful and sudden way God (their heavenly matchmaker) would bring them together, but it is a blessing they thank Him for every day. In the fall of 2025, Erik gave his testimony to Impact church in Lowell on the wilderness walk with God he had been on for the past few years, sharing how God had moved in and shaped his life. This testimony was heard by Mallory's cousin Abby (their earthly matchmaker) who also attends Impact church, and Abby promptly sent a note to Mallory that she had to "see this guy's testimony!" Mallory, who has been on her own wilderness walk as well, watched the recording of Erik's testimony and was moved, and then proceeded to reach out to Erik via facebook for introductions, which soon led to their first date at Sweetland's Coffee in downtown Rockford. Erik and Mallory are beyond blessed for the way God has so easily and perfectly brought them both together through love in this season of their lives, and are excited beyond measure to start this new chapter together.
