Come visit our neighborhood while you're in town! The Seaport is one of the newest areas of the city with lots of great restaurants, shops, and views of the water. You can hop on a Water Taxi to other parts of the city - one of the best ways to take in the views of the Boston skyline and the harbor! Some of our favorite spots are the Island Creek Oyster Bar pop up, Reel House, Woods Hill Table, and Trillium. Although it's since moved locations up the street, we met at the original Cisco Brewers location in May 2021 (shoutout to Derek & Jackie!!). If you want a classic "Boston" experience, check out Legal Seafood (including the roof deck). The ICA is a great modern art museum with rotating exhibits.
Take a stroll in the Public Garden, hit the shops and restaurants on Newbury Street, or take in the views of the city from the Prudential Center. If you are interested in art or history, a few can't miss spots are the Muesum of Fine Arts, Boston Public Library, and Isabella Steward Gardner Museum. Our favorite restaurant in the city, Krasi, is on Gloucester St in Back bay. If you can snag a reservation, we highly recommend!
Beacon Hill will always have a special place in our hearts, as Erik proposed amongst the beautiful backdrop of the Beacon Hill brownstones and brick streets last July! We highly recommend taking a walk through this historic and quant neighborhood! Acorn Street and Charles Street are must-sees. Grab a drink at The Sevens for a truly traditional Boston dive bar experience. Or, try the Whitney Hotel Bar and 1928, which is where we went the night we got engaged!
The birthplace of the American Revolution, Little Women, Henry David Thoreau, the Concord Grape...and the McNally family. We highly recommend a visit to Katherine's hometown, where there's no shortage of history and things to do. Check out the Old North Bridge, the Concord Museum, the Alcott House, and downtown Concord. Don't leave without a visit to Erik's favorite store, the Concord Bookshop. For a quick bite, grab a sandwich from Sally Ann's or the Cheese Shop, or head over to Saltbox Kitchen in West Concord.
We love to day trip to all of the great neighboring towns outside of Boston. World's End is one of our favorite spots about 30 minutes outside of the city! This is where we had our Engagement Photos done - it offers a great mix of water views, walking trails & woods, and city skyline!
Another one of our favorite day trips, especially during the summer! Check out the great downtown shops and walk along the water, or stop by for some seafood after visiting one of the North Shore beaches.
Explore Harvard Square and Central Square in Cambridge (Erik's old stomping grounds). Check out Puritan & Company, Dali, or Alden & Harlow for dinner if you're over this way!
If you're extending your visit, we highly recommend a drive up to Kennebunkport or Portland, Maine, where we like to spend time each summer for vacation. If you're looking for something a bit closer, check out Porstmouth, NH!
