There was something about her something magnetic, something familiar. But life had its own timing and just like that, I was back on the journey of fishing for the love of my life. That search didn’t last long. We began reconnecting through family gatherings and small, innocent conversations. What we didn’t realize at the time was that we were already falling for each other in silence. It felt like kissing her without being kissed, touching her without being touched, and loving her before I even had the chance to be loved back. At every family party, the connection between us grew stronger. Erika's kind heart, charming nature, and radiant smile slowly became the key that unlocked my own. I still remember the rush of excitement and nerves every time I heard my cousin was hosting a party. There she was again, stunning as ever, just like the first day our eyes met. It was rodeo time, and this cowboy knew it was time to rope in his cowgirls heart for good. Game on. I had to step up my flirting, practice my best smile, and get the courage to ask her on a real date. After a few unforgettable dates with margaritas and laughter. I finally invited her to an Astros game. It was Friday Night Fireworks, and beneath the lights of the ballpark, I asked her the question that had been on my heart “Would you like to be my girlfriend?” From that moment, our love only grew deeper despite the miles between us. Long-distance couldn’t touch the bond we were building. Between late-night FaceTimes, taco runs in the car, sushi dates, and every small shared moment. Then came March 2nd, the day I asked her the easiest question “Will you marry me?” With a mariachi band playing, I asked her to be my forever. Erika showed me what it truly means to be loved and respected. She embodies every core value I dreamed of in a lifelong partner, loving, caring, supportive, strong, and with a sense of humor that could brighten any day. Now, here we are, blessed to be building a life with Erika my partner, my best friend, my everything.

Entre llamadas de FaceTime, salidas por tacos en el carro, cenas de sushi, y cada momento compartido… lo nuestro se hacía cada vez más fuerte. Y luego llegó el 2 de marzo, el día en que le hice la pregunta más fácil que he dicho en mi vida “¿Te quieres casar conmigo?” Con un mariachi tocando de fondo, le pedí que fuera mía para siempre. Erika me ha mostrado lo que realmente significa ser amado y respetado. I first saw Juan at a family gathering in 2019. I thought he was very handsome but never in a million years did I imagine we’d end up together. At the time, my sister and his cousin were getting married, so we were both part of their wedding party. We started seeing each other more often and soon became friends. On the day of my sister’s wedding, he asked me to dance... but I said no! I had brought a date, but I remember instantly regretting it after I saw what a great dancer he was haha. As time went on, we would run into each other at more family gatherings. Our conversations were always short and polite usually just "How's school?" or "How’s work?" and we never got past that. That changed in August 2022, when we attended another wedding together. Something felt different. He looked more handsome than ever, and I honestly couldn’t stop staring at him.It had been three years after I turned him down, he asked me to dance again and this time, I said yes. Our conversations quickly became more flirty and personal. We started messaging each other on social media and kept that playful energy going every time we saw each other. In July 2023, he finally asked me out on a date. We had the most amazing time and couldn’t stop seeing each other after that. Two months later, he asked me to be his girlfriend. We still laugh about it because, right after he asked, I told him I was going to give him three months to make it official but, as usual, he exceeded my expectations. Throughout our time together, Juan has shown me what it truly means to be loved and cared for. He makes me feel seen, valued, and supported in ways I never knew I needed. He’s not only my partner, but also my best friend—and I feel incredibly lucky to be building a life with someone so kind, genuine, and full of love.

Estaba más guapo que nunca, ¡y no podía dejar de mirarlo! tres años después de haberlo rechazado, me volvió a invitar a bailar, y esta vez no iba a cometer el mismo error—le dije que sí. Nuestras conversaciones se volvieron más coquetas y personales. Empezamos a escribirnos por redes sociales y a coquetear cada vez que nos veíamos en familia. Finalmente, en julio de 2023, me invitó a salir. Tuvimos una cita increíble, y desde entonces no dejamos de vernos. Dos meses después, me pidió que fuera su novia. Todavía nos reímos de eso, porque justo después de que me lo pidió, le confesé que pensaba darle tres meses para hacerlo—pero, como siempre, superó mis expectativas. Durante todo este tiempo, Juan me ha mostrado lo que realmente significa ser amada y cuidada. Me hace sentir vista, valorada y apoyada de una forma que no sabía que necesitaba.
